KITENGELA, Kenya April 24. -Residents of Nyika estate in Kitengela were on Monday evening left in shock after they watched in horror as a woman stabbed her two-year-old girl to death before she dismembered her and fed on her remains.

Olivia Naseren 24, a Fourth Year Commerce student at a local university is alleged to have killed her child, Glory Njeri, after she parted ways with the minor’s father.

According to a police report, the woman is said to have cut her baby into pieces before feeding on the intestines and kidney, in an incident that left locals speechless with rage.

Neighbours who had the minor’s screams rushed to the house suspecting criminals had attacked the homestead only to find the young mother naked and violently attacking her daughter while singing nursery school rhymes.

The horrifying attack was captured on video by neighbours who tried in vain to break the door.

When the neighbours managed to break the door and get into the house, the toddler was already dead and the young mother had collapsed.

According to the neighbours, the parents of the young mother, who live in the same house, were not at home at the time of the incident.

The woman was on Tuesday arraigned at Kajiado Law Courts where detectives sought more days to detain her to complete investigations.

Chief Magistrate Jane Kamau ordered that the suspect remain in police custody for another ten days and will appear for the hearing of the case on May 8.

A witness told the police that the woman grabbed the child who was playing with others and took her to the house and started playing with her before they heard the screams.

“She became violent and started breaking household items. Most neighbours watched helplessly as they tried to break the door,” a neighbor said.

The woman was rushed to Kitengela Sub-County Hospital for treatment where she was induced to vomit the body parts.
