NAIROBI Kenya December 13 -Trends and Insights For Africa (TIFA) on Wednesday released a new poll on public opinion data assessing the performance of President Ruto’s cabinet.

At least 3,0009 respondents, who constitute a representative sample of Kenya’s adult population, were polled between November 25 and December 7.

The survey focused on aspects like awareness, trust, visibility, transparency, commitment, and issue resolution, according to TIFA.

Ministry of Interior and Local Administration boss Kithure Kindiki was voted the best-performing cabinet secretary, scoring 65 percent, just four months after topping yet another survey by TIFA.

Around September, Infotrak also ranked Prof Kindiki the best-performing CS. He was ranked a grade C scoring 59 per cent.

Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and also in charge of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, came in second with a score of 62 percent, followed by Ezekiel Machogu, Education CS, with a score of 58 percent.

Health CS Susan Nakhumicha and her Roads and Transport counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen tied for fourth place with 57 percent.

The same survey also revealed the worst-performing CSs, with Energy and Petroleum CS Davis Chirchir ranking last with a score of 19 percent.

Others who finished in the bottom five include Gender CS Aisha Jumwa (23 percent) and her Treasury counterpart Njuguna Ndungu (24 percent).

Lands and Housing CS Alice Wahome and her Water and Sanitation counterpart, Zachariah Njeru also made it to the list of worst performers, with a tie at 24 percent.

The survey also highlighted varying levels of public trust: only 46 percent trusted CS Machogu, whereas PCS Mudavadi earned the trust of 70 perecent of respondents.

Prof Kindiki was trusted by 68percent, CS Nakhumicha by 61 percent, and CS Murkomen by 60 percent.
